Columbia Forest Products, North America’s largest manufacturer of hardwood plywood and hardwood veneer products, is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager (CIM).
Job Summary
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for facilitating continuous improvement and LEAN efforts, training, implementing, and sustaining improvement activities at the Newport, VT facility. This person will work directly with front-line leadership and mill management to improve processes, create standardized work, and problem solve safety, quality, productivity issues throughout the mill. They will oversee 5S events, daily management system boards, and problem-solving teams. Previous experience working in a LEAN or continuous improvement environment is ideal, though not necessary.
Experience/Education/Knowledge
Prior experience with Kaizen events, 5S, daily management systems, job instruction training, problem-solving techniques, and coaching is ideal, but not required. Supervisory experience is also preferred, but anyone with leadership skills is encouraged to apply.
An online assessment will be required of all candidates. The assessment will help to choose the best candidate and will be used to help direct training of the successful candidate.
